Gabrielle Cronan (nee Kennedy) founded Dance Central in 1993.

Gabrielle’s career in dance began as a passion from early childhood. Through determination, dedication and encouragement from family and peers, she has enjoyed a successful career in dance.

As a teenager Gabrielle won the prestigious “Quest 78” produced by the ABC television series and also won dancer of the year on “Young Talent Time”, Channel 10 television series.

Gabrielle trained at the Victorian College of the Arts graduating as equal dux before being recruited for the WA Ballet Company as a dancer working with many great international choreographers and performing nationally. After dancing Gabrielle stayed with the WA Ballet Company as Touring Wardrobe Mistress. Professional appointments with The Royal Shakespeare Company London, Scottish Ballet Company, Marcelle Marceau, WA Opera Company, and the Playhouse Theatre have enhanced Gabrielle’s experience within the industry.

Further dance studies in Flamenco were completed under The Masters at Amor de Dios, Madrid, Spain (1996).

Gabrielle was a National Recipient of the Australian Institute of Classical Dance annual Teachers’ Scholarship with The Australian Ballet School in 2003.

Gabrielle has been engaged as Secretary on the National Board of The Australian Institute of Classical Dance (AICD), the Western Australian representative for AICD, and the Western Australian Chairperson for the State Committee and the Representative for the Borovansky Classical Ballet Syllabus.

She is also the State Representative for the ballet programs endorsed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority.
